The Story
This property is a second home in Shield O Mesa, an unassuming Old Snowmass neighborhood. It’s a beautiful, private property, close to Snowmass resort.
The owner, Jesse Estrin, wanted a full-house remodel and an exterior refresh.
How It Started
Jesse was referred to McSwain Builders by a local family member who had a positive experience with our team. He first hired us to remove and replace an old, dilapidated deck.
After seeing the quality and efficiency of our team, he hired us for a major whole-house remodel. We brought in an architect and a structural engineer we have significant experience with.
What We Built
Inside:
- A new kitchen with a new layout
- Four remodeled bathrooms
- New windows and exterior doors, including multi-slide glass doors
- A new heating system, cooling system and whole-house air filtration
- Integral-colored plaster finishes, new light fixtures and new electrical devices
Outside:
- All siding repaired, repainted and sealed
- A replacement TPO roof
- A brand-new deck
- A lower stone patio with a hot tub, an infrared sauna and a cold plunge pool
The Challenges
A year of interior and exterior work brought multiple change orders, including significant design changes partway through construction. Our team handled the changes and kept the project moving.
The Result
The entire project, interior and exterior, took about one full year.
Jesse loved the new kitchen layout and the view of the valley from the new windows and multi-slide glass doors. He also loved the infrared sauna and the cold plunge on the new stone patio.
